Let’s all play and learn together! This special playtime is designed to stimulate young minds and strengthen literacy skills. There will be exhilarating and fun activities and the opportunity to meet other families. Additionally, attending families will have the opportunity to choose one free Forever Book for each of their children and expand their home library. Provided by the Mid-Continent Public Library.
My dad, John Bichelmeyer, was the smartest man I ever knew. He was a humble Kansas butcher with an 8th grade education, and alongside my mom, raised ten kids to become the very best they could be. When he died in 2004, I filled the hole in my heart with blue ink that soon became a book about all that he taught me. I am an accidental author but a very intentional communicator. Sharing my father’s wisdom has become my life’s work as I help people create meaningful connections.
I like to call myself an author, speaker, and people connector. Through executive and group coaching, speaking engagements, and business consulting, I help people make better connections. These connections help people and companies achieve levels of success they never thought possible.
My background includes more than 35 years’ experience in the staffing industry, or as I like to call it, the people business. Having climbed the corporate ladder from an entry-level customer service role to a C-level executive position, my professional background includes sales, marketing, operations, training, service delivery, talent acquisition, and organizational and executive coaching.
Mary B. Lucas is an author, speaker, and people connector. She often describes her more than 30 years of experience in the staffing and workforce management industry as experience in the "People Business." Mary has coached individuals at all organizational levels to reach their performance goals through improved work relationships and now shares her experience through her speaking engagements.
In 2006, she published the highly successful book, Lunchmeat & Life Lessons: Sharing a Butcher's Wisdom, a motivational memoir and tribute to her father on how to bring out the best in yourself and others. Now in its 16th printing worldwide, her mission is to share life lessons that help people create meaningful connections and inspire themselves.
Mary is a graduate of Kansas State University, holds an Executive Coaching Certification from
Fielding Graduate University, and in 2016 earned the prestigious CSP, Certified Staffing Professional designation from the American Staffing Association.
