Home is key to a sense of love, safety, and belonging. Spending the Holidays at home with family is important to us. This campaign brings awareness to the need for safe homes and raises funds for our local efforts, bringing strength, stability, and independence to local families through shelter.

Thank you for empowering us to help seniors stay in their homes longer and allow hard-working parents to have safe, stable, healthy homes for their children.
Contest Rules:
- Entry must be a "Gingerbread-inspired building."
- It does NOT need to be edible and can be made from any material.
- Homes must be a maximum of 12” in depth x 12” wide.
- Display must rest on a sturdy base of no more than 14" x14" that will survive transportation. *
- Entry Drop Off date: 12/1/23 from 10:00 am -5:00 pm at 101 W Lexington Ave Independence, MO 64050.
- Celebrate the Award Announcement with us. We'll keep you posted on this date.
- Truman Habitat for Humanity will dispose of all entries unless otherwise directed.
* Truman Habitat will not be responsible for damage to the homes on display.

Every day, through our home builds and home preservation projects, Truman Habitat allows people a hand up, not a hand out. By volunteering or donating to an area ReStore, you help give a community member hope for building a stronger future for their family.
Since 1989, Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity has served the Eastern Jackson County area. We thank you in advance for supporting our mission: Helping families find strength, stability and self-reliance through homeownership and education.
Families served are low-to-moderate incomes with a demonstrated need for decent and affordable housing. They partner with Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity through 350 hours of sweat equity and are rewarded with a zero-percent interest home loan.

How Voting Works
Donate to vote; this is a fundraising event! A donation -- of any amount -- is always welcome.
- Any visitor of the Gingerbread Village at Independence Square from December 1st -24th can vote.
- Build your fundraising page and share it with friends and family to increase donations and votes.
- Share, share, share -- Grab a photo of your home creation at its height of glory, or share why you are supporting Habitat for Humanity. Keep posting throughout the voting period 12/1/23-12/24/23.
- Send family and friends an email with a link to your personal fundraising page.
